Pete St John will appear in The National Concert Hall on Saturday the 20th of March 2010, for a very special show.  “The Fields of Athenry - The Songs and Stories of Pete St. John” will star Pete, along with very special host of guests.

Ok ok, well not quite number 1 in the charts, but the site is now at Number 1 the Google rankings for “Never Drink and Drive”! Not bad out of 8.2 Million results.

Our IT guru Ger (creator of the NDD song site) reports hits from all over the world. Australia have picked up on the song and its message through the good offices of Fred Rea / Irish Scene Magazine in the city of Perth, WA.

Friday the 19th of December 2008 was a special day for Pete as he travelled to the RTE studios in Dublin for a unique Live Line show hosted by Joe Duffy.  Pete was joined by Charlie McGettigan, Gerry O’Connor, Kathy Nugent, Brian Furlong and Tony Malone to perform some of Pete’s songs live in studio.

In recognition of his songwriting, Pete has been awarded the Performing Artists Trust Society, Golden Roll of Honours Award!  The award was presented at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin, on the 19th of October 2008.

At a special meeting in the Mansion House in Dublin city Pete St John presented a copy of his awareness message on road safety in the form of a unique CD to Lord Mayor Eibhlin Byrne. The song which is written and recorded as a message to all road users to “Never Drink and Drive” was favourably endorsed by the Lord Mayor on all counts. Plans are being set in place to launch the song as part of a nation wide program to save lives on our highways.

The fine gesture of endorsing my “Never Drink and Drive Song” by Ireland’s Ambassador to Australia Hon. Mairtin O’Fainin, is a huge boost to the veracity of our intention to save lives on the roads of the world! I wish to formally thank the Ambassador for his generous and important support.
